Advice and Guidance for Adults

Connexions is available to young people up to and including the age of 19. If you are disabled and still need our help, you can use our service until you reach 25.

There is free advice available for some adults through 'nextstep'. This service is funded by the government and may be delivered by a number of organisations. Ansbury - the company that delivers Connexions across Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole - provides this to adults in Bournemouth and Poole. A Nextstep adviser can give you information and advice on learning and work opportunities to help you improve your job prospects, get a qualification or just make the most of your job. They will talk to you about your skills and interests and help you decide what you want to do next.

Nextstep can offer:

  • Advice on jobs
  • Advice on local courses
  • Advice on where to learn or retrain
  • Advice on funding for learning
  • Information on childcare
  • Advice on job-hunting, CV preparation and interview skills

You can contact Nextstep on 0800 138 5550 (Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm) or visit the website
Facilities are available for people with disabilities but telephone before your appointment to make arrangements.
