Entry to Employment (e2e)
Who is e2e for?
- e2e might be the choice for you if you:
- are aged 16 - 18 (or older in exceptional cases) and
- haven't decided what to do after leaving school or
- are not yet ready to get an Apprenticeship, job or college place.
If you're not ready to do a programme that lasts 16 hours, you could start with pre-e2e.
What would you do on e2e?
e2e will give you the chance to get the support, skills, confidence and qualifications you need to move on to college, work or an Apprenticeship.
Here are some examples of what you might do on e2e:
o Budgeting
o Driving skills training
o Improving use of numbers
o Improving use of words and communication
o Parenting skills
o Problem solving
o Residential outdoor challenges
o Skills for living on your own
o Sport linked activities
o Work and job tasters
How long does e2e last?
As each training plan is created especially for each person, it can be as long or as short as necessary.
Your personal plan will be agreed between you, your Connexions Adviser and your key worker at the training provider. It will be reviewed with you at least every 4 weeks.
How much will you get paid on e2e?
If you are on an e2e or Programme Led Pathway, you can apply for an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). You can get up to £30 per week but it will depend on your family's income. Your family will still be able to get other benefits for you like Child Benefit and Tax Credit just like when you were at school.
How do you apply for e2e?
Contact Connexions or speak to your Connexions adviser. We will help you get the right e2e programme for you. We will need to fill out a form with you to help a training provider plan a course that will give you the skills and confidence you need to go on to an Apprenticeship.
