Consumer rights
When you buy things or pay for certain services the law tries to make sure you get a fair deal. For example, things you buy should do what they say they will do and be fit for purpose. If not, and they didn't tell you there was a fault, you are entitled to return them. It is a good idea to hold onto receipts for a while so that you can prove where you bought stuff should you need to return them. You only have a short time in which you can return goods for a full refund. If you need to complain, you should do it as soon as possible.
If you need advice about this, Citizens Advice Burea is a good place to start.
