Making choices
Choices - lots of them!
But how do you know what is right for you′
Choices Checklist
- Think about your skills, interests and likes.
- Consider how you like to learn.
- Talk to your tutors, careers teacher, family, friends, Connexions Personal Adviser, or youth worker.
- Work out what money you need and can get to study or work.
- Research ideas in your school Connexions area, Connexions Centre, local library, or on the Internet.
- Sort out a back-up plan in case your first choice doesn't work out.
It's important to check all of the options. Remember that your Connexions Personal Adviser can help you make sense of it all.
Job ideas and information
Try Kudos. It's a great way to get ideas of jobs you may never even have thought about. Or try Careerscape to have a look at the kinds of jobs that link to particular subjects or types of work. For example, if you enjoy and are good at art, you can get ideas about art-related jobs. If you want to work outdoors, you can get information about outdoor work. You can also use it to get careers information about almost any job you can think of. You need to get a password from your school or Connexions Adviser or contact us.
