Work or study – are you sure?

Would you be better to continue in full-time education and gain more qualifications instead of getting a job?Some things to think about:

• How do you feel about school and studying?
• How do you learn best?
• What you plan to do in the future? Some jobs can be difficult to enter without further full-time study.
• What is your financial situation?

Most young people do continue in full-time education at the end of year 11. But that doesn't mean you have to.

There are opportunities in a large number of career areas to make employment worth a serious look whether you leave school with GCSEs or advanced level qualifications. Just make sure you research your ideas. You can get information from the Internet, in the Connexions resource area at school or at your local Connexions Centre.
