Accessibility

A site for everyone

This site was designed so everyone would be able to use it.  We liked the idea of one site for everyone.

Our web company has used the latest web technologies and standards like XHTML 1.1, CSS 2.0, Ajax etc. to make sure that this is possible. Every page of this site will validate to XHTML 1.1 and comply with the W3C's Web Content Accessibility guidelines (WCAG). Don't believe us? check the link at the bottom of each page to validate it.

Some of this technology you can’t see because it’s to do with how you get to the site in the first place.

What can you see?

What about the bits you can see? Did you notice the buttons to make text larger?  You can change the colour too. And you can use 'Readspeaker' if you want to hear the information.

What about the information itself?

Well, we have some extra pages for young people who need additional support. Here are the links:

For parents and adults working with young people we have general information about learning difficulties and disabilities and transition information and resources in the Learning Zone.

Info Zone

In the Info Zone, you can search under any of the categories. Where companies have given us information about accessibility, you will get a note about this when you look at their details.  ‘Other access’ can include hearing loop, signers available, staff trained in heavy lifting and so on.

There is a category called 'Special Needs'. This has organisations that can help if you or someone in your family has to learning difficulities and disabilities.

What do you think?

Tell us what else you need, what information is missing, what doesn't work properly.

We are happy to hear your ideas. And they may make a difference to a lot of other people.

We will always see if we can do something about your comments and tell you if we can't.
